The Best Man buys her wedding shoes! We love this part!
A friend of ours recently shared her Wedding Shoe story with us which we loved. Some traditional Macedonian Weddings start with a game which involves our favourite part of the bridal outfit – the shoes! Also, it’s the best Man’s shout!

The idea seems a little old-school given the Bride is ‘bought’, but of course it’s a nod to tradition and is a little fun on your Wedding Day. As the story goes, the best man turns up to the Brides house and barters with the bride’s family. The best man then presents the bride with her Panache Bridal shoes (of course) and the game begins. The idea of the game is to pretend the shoes are too big so the very generous best man continues to fill the shoes with cash, coins first and then bills. Third time lucky and the shoe fits!

Here’s what our Bride Christina Kumcevski has to say “Macedonian wedding traditions are wonderful, I’m glad that we were able to incorporate a number of traditional games into our wedding. It gives a nod to our heritage, one that we are very proud of. Having my best man deliver my shoes was so much fun, it added an element of theatre to the morning, a lovely take on an old tradition on a day full of special moments”.
We hear Christina also “kicked” a glass of water on the way out of the house in hopes that the journey with her husband flows smoothly like water. This is really sweet too.
We hope your journey continues to flow smoothly like water Christina and Peter.
